In simple terms, this means the harder you try to push or pull, the
more resistance you get.  (Bernoulli's law)  The HEALTHMAX PRO
Fluid Power Technology allows the cylinders to continually adjust to
the force you exert with a responding amount of resistance. This
means that they automatically adjust to match the natural strength
curve of each muscle you're working.  If you reach a point in a stroke
where you can't push any further, HEALTHMAX PRO resistance
systems will automatically reduce the resistance level so you can
complete the exercise at a slower pace. (You can't hurt yourself.)
Most exercise systems cannot do this, because they do not have
variable resistance. Instead, they don't allow you to complete an
exercise if you have reached maximum exertion. And that
prematurely ends your workout before you've fully exercised through
the entire range of motion. More details and
muscle curve graphs.

What is the equivalent resistance in pounds of the HealthMax Pro
hydraulic resistance
The resistance force of our system varies with the speed of  your exercise.
In general the 12 position dial settings provide a range of resistance from
10 to 200 lb.. These resistance measurements were taken at a speed of 21
reps per minute.  A quick thrust or jerk is much higher. The dial settings
serve as a personal reference and goal system as your exercise routines
progress and your fitness improves.
